M.i. Media have been shortlisted in the 2018 IPA Effectiveness awards for our transformative work on 32Red.

Doubling 32Red’s revenue and quadrupling its company value has been recognised amongst other outstanding campaigns in the world’s most rigorous and prestigious awards shortlist with entrants having to prove the payback of their communications activity.

Of the 38 campaigns shortlisted, 8 come from independent agencies with M.i. leading the charge. We wish all the teams success on awards night.

M.i. Media – 32Red: How marketing communications fuelled an online casino’s hot streak

Gambling business, 32Red, had an ambitious plan to double UK revenues to £100m in four years. It would involve adding more new customers in three years than it had in the previous 12, as well as growing revenue per player. Via modelling and smart use of data, a new strategy identified high value customers and delivered significant growth in new players through an effective mix of search, TV advertising, sports sponsorship, and content partnerships. The £100m target was reached one year early. 32Red was eventually sold for £176m, four times its valuation at the start of the growth plan.

Kate Cox from the IPA judging panel was quoted as saying “A great example of using digital data to use a holistic communications approach that drove fantastic results for the business”

We were delighted to hear earlier this week that M.i. Media client, 32Red, have announced record earnings to the City. Ed Ware, 32Red chief executive, said:

“We’re delighted to report a record revenue and profitability performance for 32Red in the first half of 2016 which has been driven by strong growth across our business and brands”.



M.i. Media appointed to take on 32Red’s Paid Search activity

M.i. Media client 32Red, have asked the agency to take on responsibility for all Paid Search activity with immediate effect. The agency picked up this extension to their existing contract after conducting a 3 month consultancy project that resulted in the profitability of this channel soaring by 300%.





Record revenue performance in 2015 for 32Red

M.i. Media client 32Red has delivered record net gaming revenues in 2015, up 51% to £48.6m (2014: £32.1m)

Commenting on the performance, Ed Ware, CEO of 32Red, said:

32 Red revenues rose 26% in 2014 to set a new company record

32Red had a very successful 2014.  They saw a total of 44,385 new players signed up during 2014, up 17% on the previous year and the number of active users increased 15% (up to 82,155).  The active user spend also increased 5% year on year.

32Red’s Chief Executive, Ed Ware, has attributed the success to an increased investment in the business and the fact that “our marketing and operations have never been in better shape”.

Early trading in 2015 has continued to be strong across the operator’s products, with revenues for the first twenty days in January up 31% on the same period in 2014.

Marketing shake-up drives 32Red half revenues up 19%

This week’s EGR magazine included news of a 19% increase in 32Red’s half year revenues…

“32Red’s decision to overhaul its marketing strategy appears to be paying dividends after the operator revealed H1 2014 gross gaming revenues rose 19% year-on-year”

Ed Ware (32Red’s CEO) was also quoted…

“I would say in H1 we have definitely enhanced the effectiveness of our media spend and optimised our campaigns, which in turn has produced some good results with the number of players and quality of players rising”.
